Tony Asher's greatest claim to fame comes from his lyrical collaboration in 1966 with Brian Wilson on the Beach Boys' teenage opus Pet Sounds. Before teaming up with Wilson, Asher worked in the advertising industry. He took only a short leave of absence to work on the record.
