Inspired by the Beatles and merging energetic pop with graceful but evocative melodies, the San Francisco-based four-piece Translator featured two singer/songwriter/guitarists (Steve Barton and Bob Darlington) and a sound that spanned Merseybeat and stripped-down rock to psychedelia.
