Biography
Latin pop/rock foursome from Ecuador Tranzas was formed in 1986, led by singer/songwriter and guitarist Douglas Bastidas, debuting live while playing at 1987's Rock Total festival. In March of 1988 the band recorded its debut album, called Sueño Astral. A year later, Tranzas came in first place after participating in a rock contest sponsored by MTV. In 1990, original drummer Jorge Ponce decided to leave the act, soon, Alfonso Velez took his place.
