Blending the sound of crust-punk, D-beat, and power violence with their love of hops and barley, Trappist play a tongue-in-cheek take on the normally furiously political sound associated with acts such as Discharge, Iron Reagan, and Neurosis, as heard on their 2018 debut Ancient Brewing Tactics. Formed in 2014 by Chris Dodge, Phil Vera, and Ryan Harkins, the trio set about bringing together their history of playing in hardcore and punk bands with their love of beer.
