The leading singer of Mutuashi, the Afro-Cuban-influenced dance music of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tshala Muana was known for her sensuous stage outfits and dancing. The Baluba folk music tradition also played an important role in the development of Muana's sound. Tshala Muana died on December 10, 2022 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, at the age of 64. ~ Craig Harris
