Tyko combine classic shoegazer and dream pop threads à la My Bloody Valentine and Swervedriver with fancy new wave beats for a mesmerizing post-rock/experimental sound of their own. Hailing from Fayetteville, AR, Tyko formed in 2001. Kevin Blagg (vocals/guitar), Matt Kesner (guitar), Beverly Blann (vocals/bass), and former Swiz/Severin compatriot Alex Daniels (drums) released two albums -- Could Have Been Stars (2001) and Transmissions from the Biosphere (2002) -- and received moderate airplay on college radio with their single "Saturn 5."
