Instead of referencing fellow Sheffield artists the Human League and ABC, TYNI cites the likes of Lene Lovich and Madonna -- as well as David Bowie and Lady Gaga -- among the artists who have inspired her contemporary spin on electronic pop. A performance at a small-scale music industry showcase brought TYNI to the attention of producer Wayne Wilkins (Natasha Bedingfield, Shontelle, Cheryl Cole), who signed her to his Croydon Boy label.
