Sounding like a dirty combination of post-hardcore and indie rock, United States came together in Brooklyn, NY, with members from the Long Island D.I.Y. scene, including bands like the Assistant, the Insurgent, and Scent of Human History. Comprised of drummer Justin D., vocalist Justin S., bassist John, and guitarists Ren and Jay, United States appealed to fans of bands like Fugazi and Sonic Youth.
