Singer/songwriter Víctor Heredia decided to pursue music studies at a young age, learning how to play piano and guitar. Soon after, the young musician began participating in different radio shows, winning a folkloric festival called Revelación Juvenil with his song "Para Cobrar Altura," in 1967. Later, his composition "El Viejo Matias" became his first smash, recording an album called Gritando Esperanzas, released by RCA in 1968.
