Victoria Livengood

It is not often that an opera singer shares an award platform with the NBA's Michael Jordan. For "Dixie Diva" Victoria Livengood, the occasion was the 1996 Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony of the University at North Carolina. She was raised on a farm near Thomasville, North Carolina. At the age of ten, she started singing in a gospel quartet with her parents and her younger brother.
