Working in the free improvisational sphere from the early 2010s onward, Argentinian experimental cellist and composer Violeta García is deeply inspired by the French double bassist and European Women Improvising Group member Joëlle Léandre.
Born in 1990 in Buenos Aires, García took up the cello at the age of eight, going on to study at the city's Astor Piazzolla Conservatory, the Manuel de Falla Higher Conservatory of Music and the National University of the Arts.
