Formed in São Paulo in the mid-90's by Henrique Lima (vocals/guitar), Beto DeMoreaux (bass/vocals), Paulinho Jiraya (drums/cavaquinho/surdo/pandeiro/triangle/keyboards/vocals), the Virgulóides, dedicated to a synthesis of rock and samba with a satirical view, launched in 1997 their first CD, Virgulóides, produced by Carlos Eduardo Miranda (the launcher of the Raimundos). With the hit "Bagulho no Bumba" (Henrique Lima/Beto Demoreaux), the album sold 40,000 copies.
