Formed in the early 2000s around some of Los Angeles' most accomplished musicians, including Tool drummer Danny Carey, Pigmy Love Circus guitarist John Ziegler, Jimmy Kimmel Live! house band keyboard player Jeff Babko, and session player/Don Henley touring bassist Lance Morrison, Volto! specialize in heady, genre-spinning jazz-fusion rock that bridges the gap between King Crimson, Liquid Tension Experiment, and the Mars Volta.
