Wanting

China-born, Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Wanting makes heartfelt and melodic adult alternative pop. Born Wanting Qu in 1983 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, Wanting grew up listening to a mix of Chinese and Western artists including Jonathan Lee, Emil Wakin Chau, Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, Sarah McLachlan, and others. However, it wasn't until she left home to study abroad in Canada in 2000 that she began to explore her own interest in singing. During this time, Wanting sang in a rock band, and by 2008 had begun writing her own solo singer/songwriter material....
