Sometimes even the most exclusively solo artist needs a bit of a guide, especially if that musician happens to play guitar. Wax Fang, the guitar-driven multi-layered workshop band created -- as a solo project, initially -- by Scott Carney in 2005, found a new dynamic in the rhythm section of bassist Jake Heustis and drummer Kevin Ratterman after Carney liked what the low-end pair were able to bring to his Eno/Bowie-esque rock, pop, surf, and guitar-addled soundscape.
