Taiwanese-born American pianist Wu Han first came to prominence as part of a duet with her husband, cellist David Finckel, but went on to establish a flourishing solo career. The daughter of a policeman, Wu Han was born around 1958 in Taipei. She started music lessons at age nine and within a few years racked up most of Taiwan's major music prizes.
