Conductor Yang Yang has worked to develop classical music in his home country and has led and forged links with Western groups. He holds conducting positions with the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, in whose founding he was involved, and the China Philharmonic Orchestra. Yang is also one of the few Chinese conductors to have led performances of Western opera. He has recorded for the Naxos and Accentus labels.
