Enigmatic Japanese duo Yorushika is recognized for their conceptually ambitious J-pop and rock. Following a series of EPs, they made their full-length debut with 2019's That's Why I Gave Up on Music and its companion Elma; both reaching the Oricon Top Five, establishing their narrative style. They continued this approach with 2020's Plagiarism, which included "Ghost in a Flower;" the first of several of their songs used as anime themes. Later releases expanded into multimedia, including 2023's art book-centered Magic Lantern and 2026's Second Person with its epistolary novel.
