Z-Axis came into existence for a multimedia performance event in 1997. When the musicians felt the chemistry was right, they decided to pursue the adventure as a band in their own right. Disillusioned by the whole music scene, keyboardist Allen Welty-Green called it quits in the mid-'80s and turned to performance art.
