June 16, 2016
It's been almost a week since we lost the extremely talented Christina Grimmie when she was shot and killed during a meet and greet following her concert in Orlando, FL. But as new details surface about Christina's killer, we are remembering the singer/songwriter by taking a look back on a few of the moments we got to share with her at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival.
After several months of voting, Christina won the Macy's iHeartRadio Rising Star Contest. As the winner, she got to perform at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas where she took the stage to perform her own original songs like "Shrug," "Cliché," and "Must Be Love."
And if you didn't already know, Christina would often post cover songs on her YouTube channel. So at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival, she also performed a few covers like Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home," and more. And she sounded absolutely incredible throughout her entire performance.
To remember Christina, her incredible voice, and contagious, uplifting personality, we put together the below tribute. The video shows Christina's journey from YouTube, to "The Voice" as part of Team Adam [Levine], to winning the 2015 Macy's iHeartRadio Rising Star contest, to her fans -- #TeamGrimmie -- sharing all of the ways that the singer has impacted them. Check it out below. We miss you Christina.
