Rihanna Drops 'Star Trek Beyond' Song 'Sledgehammer' (LISTEN)

Rihanna is going beyond -- Star Trek Beyond, that is. Over the weekend, the superstar teased a brand new song called "Sledgehammer," which is a part of the upcoming Star Trek Beyond movie set to hit theaters next month, but now, the full song (and video) is HERE! Set your excitement to warp drive, people!

"Sledgehammer" is set to appear on the movie's official soundtrack, and following the dramatic teaser Ri shared on Instagram this weekend we can hear more of the song in the newest trailer for Star Trek Beyond. The track itself sounds like a power ballad as Rihanna belts out the song's prominent lyrics "I hit a wall."

Some had been speculating that the song could have possibly been written two years ago. In 2014, Riri sent out this cryptic tweet with some "Sledgehammer" lyrics:

Star Trek Beyond is the third film in the rebooted movie series, and will be released to theaters on July 22nd. The latest installment stars Chris Pine, Idris Elba, and Zoe Saldana, among others.
