Darius Rucker If I Told You

Darius Rucker may have released his latest album Southern Style just last year (March 2015), recently collaborated with Sister Hazel and their track titled "Karaoke Song," performed the National Anthem at this year's Indy 500, and is currently on his U.S. "Good For A Good Time Tour" with Dan + Shay and Michael Ray this summer, but the busy singer has also found time to release new music! The Charleston, South Carolina-born Country star is sharing a brand new single titled "If I Told You," and we have the world premiere for you to listen to right here.

"If I Told You" starts out with beautiful, melodic piano riffs, before the slow tempo picks up pace with the addition of the guitar and drums. Darius sings the song's pleading lyrics in the chorus, “If I told you all the stupid things I’ve done / I blamed on being young / But I was old enough to know I know … Could you look the other way / Could you love me anyway.”

On the meaning of his new single "If I Told You"

“If I Told You” is expected to be the first single from Darius Rucker's fifth major label Country album via Capitol Records Nashville.

“I always tell people, the first time I heard [the Black Crowes’] ‘She Talks To Angels,’ those lyrics did something to me. I probably requested that song eight times at different bars in Columbia, S.C. before going home, putting on Bonnie Raitt’s Home Plate, and trying to write 'She Talks To Angels' for Bonnie Raitt. ‘Let Her Cry’ just poured out. For me, ‘If I Told You,’ is like ‘Angels’ as it’s not a song I wrote, but as a songwriter I would not change a line as it moves me to want to not only sing along, but also as a songwriter it inspires a new perspective.”
