Nick Carter Settles With Bouncer Over Bar Fight

Nick Carter has reportedly made a six-figure settlement with the bouncer he assaulted during a drunken bar fight in Florida earlier this year.

As Gossip Cop reported, the Backstreet Boy was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery after he and a friend allegedly initiated a fight at the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West on January 13. A bartender reportedly asked the inebriated men to leave, but instead of complying, Carter’s friend head-butted the bar’s manager, while the singer grabbed the bouncer by the throat and punched him.

The doorman later filed a lawsuit against the singer seeking unspecified damages for pain and suffering, and according to TMZ, Carter has now settled for an amount somewhere in the six-figure range. The lawyer for the unidentified bouncer had previously referred to Carter as a “Backstreet thug,” who inflicted physical and mental anguish on his client for simply trying to do his job.

As Gossip Cop also noted, prosecutors agreed to drop the battery charge against Carter provided that he complete 25 hours of community service, spend six months under court supervision and also pay around $300 in court fees. If Carter successfully completes the court’s requirement and stays out of trouble, his record will be expunged. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Carter for more details about the settlement, but we have yet to hear back.
