Tim Duncan Announces Retirement

(WOAI) Future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan announced today he is retiring after a 19 year career, all of it spent with the San Antonio Spurs, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Duncan, 40, was a first round selection of the Spurs back in the 1997 NBA draft. In his career, he led the Spurs to five NBA championships, and a .710 winning percentage, which is the best winning percentage of any team in the five major pro sports leagues over the last 19 seasons.

Duncan totaled 15 All-NBA selections, which is tied for the most all time, and 15 NBA All-Defensive team honors, which is more than any other player in NBA history.
