Behind The Scenes Of Showtime's 'Roadies' With Jim James (WATCH)
July 15, 2016
SHOWTIME debuted its new series "ROADIES" on June 26th, which aims to put the spotlight on the lives of the people behind the scenes of rock bands -- the roadies. The show follows the roadies of the Staton-House Band as they face life on the road, and deal with issues in their personal lives, as well as trying to make sure every show goes smoothly each night.
Additionally, "ROADIES," is set to feature music from rockers like Bob Dylan, Ramones, The Replacements, The Ting Tings, and more, as well as quite a few guest appearances from artists including Lindsey Buckingham, The Head & the Heart, Lucius, Halsey, Reignwolf, and My Morning Jacket's Jim James. And speaking of Jim, we have an exclusive behind-the-scenes video from his episode. Get a look at the show as Jim shares how he ended up making an appearance on the show in the first place, what it was like filming, and talked about the authenticity of what you see on the show versus how it it is in real life (hint: they hit the nail on the head).
Jim says that he got involved when the show's creator Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous) reached out to him and described the episode to the My Morning Jacket member. And although Jim has done several scenes either singing or just simply being there, learning lines made him appreciate the actors on the show, "To remember lines, it gives you such respect for the actors."
And if you watch the show, and wonder if that is what it's really like out on the road from the perspective of the crew -- it is. At least according to Jim. "The authenticity of the show is phenomenal. You feel like you're in a real arena or a tour bus. Everything is just too a T, exactly as it is on the road."
