A Placer County neighborhood was rocked last week after a little girl was found dead in her Rocklin home.
That same day, July 19, Rocklin Police accused Ashley Wood's 14 year old brother as her killer, police telling KFBK they found the teen boy a mile away from the home, blood on his hands.
That same week, the Placer County District Attorney's Office shared that they would be unable to handle the case as the 13-year old girl who was murdered and that boy accused of the crime are the children of Placer County's Supervising Deputy District Attorney Jeff Wood.
Monday, the state Attorney General Office filed murder charges against that 14-year old boy.
Now, the family's eldest son is speaking out. He says he is tired "of the lies and rumors" about his family. In an exclusive interview with KFBK's Kaitlin Lewis, Austin talks about his sister Ashley Wood and the young boy accused of killing her inside their Rocklin home: his younger brother.
Twenty-two-year-old Austin Wood reached out Tuesday afternoon, wanting to shed light on his family. Angry, as he said by the rumors swirling around them.
"People are saying that he had a lot of anger issue, like they know about my family, and they don't," Austin said.
When he talks about his sister, when he talks about Ashley, his voice cracks.
"She was the most amazing, perfect little girl, little sister I could have ever asked for," Austin expressed.
