Some artists take a few months to finish a record, while others take years. Drake White's debut album, Spark, has been in the works for much longer than you'd ever imagine. So, how long has it taken for him to create it?

32 years. I’m 32 years old, and I mean, there are some ideas that I can remember when I was five – that are 25 years old. Like ideas that influenced my writing, you know. Being out in the woods with my grandfather and hunting or fishing, and ways that I felt that influenced the structure of this record.

With this album Drake delivers us twelve tracks, including his current single "Livin' the Dream." The album promotes positivity and hope, Drake even says that "at the end of the day I'm a happy individual, and I wanted to make people happy with this music."

He also says that with this album he wants people to have faith, faith in a better tomorrow and faith that there are way more good people out in the world than bad.

Drake Reveals What Spark Is

One of the most impactful lines in the album can be found in the track "Back to Free," and it says, "Nobody's Talking but we're all on the phone." When asked about that line Drake said, "It's the feeling I got when I saw that kid that just learned how to ride his bicycle with no training wheels. When I jumped off that rope swing when I was a boy. When I'm cruising down the river on a pontoon boat and grilling out and having some cold ones." It's this idea that we're all so focused on our phones, that we don't allow ourselves the opportunity to absorb everything that live has in store for us.
