INTERVIEW: Galantis Talks 'No Money' & New Music In 2016

Swedish electronic music duo Galantis, comprised of Miike Snow's Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklö (AKA Style of Eye), are constantly producing new music. The guys released their debut studio album Pharmacy last year, which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, featuring hit songs like "Runaway (You & I)", which went 2x platinum in Australia and Norwayb along with "Peanut Butter Jelly" (which has racked up over 74 million views on YouTube). This year, the producers and songwriters have already released another hit single "No Money,” and it's already hit the top 10 on charts in Sweden, Australia, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway and the UK.
Galantis on Making "No Money" & New Music This Year
"No Money" features uncredited vocals from Reece Bullimore, who is the son of Beatbullyz's Andrew Bullimore -- Andrew helped write "No Money." Galantis explains that Reece was just ten years old when they cut his vocal for their new song.
"We had this amazing vocal by this young kid, he's ten years old. His name is Reece. So we never gave up on that one because that vocal was so good. It was a little struggle, but we got there in the end. One of the guys that we're writing with, it's his son."
Even though Galantis is constantly traveling due to their heavy touring schedule, the guys still make time to create more music, and tell us there is a lot to look forward to the rest of the year. They tease that they have a new single coming out next month in September, and that they recorded with a full orchestra! The duo tells us, "We got something big coming out next month in September. We recorded full orchestra. That was a pretty amazing experience."

Based on Galantis's new song "No Money," we asked the guys what to do when you have no money. We gave them several real life situations, and asked them what they would do if they had no money. They got pretty creative! Check it out below:
What do you do when you have no money and the bill for dinner comes?
"The bill for dinner. We [would] just ask if we can DJ at the bar."
What do you do when you have no money, and you need a ride to the airport?
"Hitchhike, or just take a cab and then run. Or we call Tiesto. We do that sometimes."
What do you do when you have no money and you need to tip the valet or bar tender?
"Sing a song."
What do you do when you have no money and you're on a date -- you forgot your wallet.
"You borrow money. Borrowed money's free, actually."
What do you do when you have no money and you really need that cup of coffee because you just woke up?
"We call our tour manager."
What do you do when you have no money, and you need to get a birthday present?
"You paint one. Or you sing happy birthday."
What do you do when you have no money, and it's your turn to get the next round of drinks for your friends?
"Run!"
What do you do when you have no money, and you want to go on vacation?
"You go on tour."
