The Weeknd Hits The Studio With Daft Punk

August 23, 2016

Sounds like worlds will collide when The Weeknd and Daft Punk release whatever came out of their studio session together. That's right. The trio recently convened in the lab for a little something something and word of the initial revelation arrived, courtesy of Wendy Goldstein, Republic Records executive VP/head of urban A&R.

In a discussion with Billboard, which took place more than a month ago, Goldstein let it slip that she was looking forward to bringing the two acts together for a special collaboration. “Actually, we have a session coming up in two days with The Weeknd and Daft Punk," she revealed. "I’m a massive Daft Punk fan, and this is the first time that I’ve actually been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.”

Goldstein's revelation went under the rug at the time, but after taking a look at the R&B crooner's recent Instagram feed, it looks like that studio session actually did come to fruition. Take a look at a post of his from two weeks ago!
