Nick Cannon Praying For 'Lupus Warrior' Selena Gomez

Nick Cannon is praying for “lupus warrior” Selena Gomez. Like the singer, Cannon also suffers from lupus.

As Gossip Cop reported, on Tuesday Gomez announced that she’s dealing with new health issues, such as depression and anxiety, caused by her ongoing battle with lupus. She is taking the rest of the year off to focus on her well-being, instead of hitting the road again for her “Revival World Tour.” In response to the news, fans tweeted “#GetWellSoonSelena” to show support.

But Gomez also has Cannon offering support as well. On Thursday, he wrote on both Twitter and Instagram, “Pray for your continued strength @Selenagomez. I got u fam! Never Alone #LupusWarrior.” The Instagram post featured an old photo of Cannon and Gomez on a stage together.

Cannon’s own struggle with lupus became well-known in 2012. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the “America’s Got Talent” host was hospitalized with kidney failure, and then later had a pulmonary embolism as well. He was ultimately diagnosed with lupus nephritis, and acknowledged it would be a chronic health issue for the rest of his life.

Last year, Cannon was back in the hospital and admitted, “I gotta stop running my body to the ground. I be wanting to grind nonstop but the engine can’t run on fumes.” Unfortunately, the busy Gomez is learning the same lesson.
