Just a day after it was announced that her Las Vegas residency will end in 2017, word of a brand-new song from Mariah Carey has surfaced via "Empire" star Jussie Smollet.
On the forthcoming season of the hit FOX show, Mimi will be one of the many guest stars aside from Taye Diggs, Phylicia Rashad and French Montana, and now we have a small detail about what her cameo is going to entail. Earlier this year, we learned that she will play a fictional superstar named Kitty (appropriate), who comes to the "Empire"-land to collaborate with Jussie's character, Jamal Lyon.
Smollet took to social media on Tuesday (September 20) to reveal a little more on that very team-up. "September 30th get the song ‘Infamous’ with me and the most successful female artist of all time and one of the greatest vocalists of all time: Mariah Carey," he boasted.

During a recent interview at the 2016 Emmys, Terrence Howard revealed that the duet is something "that touches the heart and feels like the first time you’ve ever seen Mariah Carey. It’s that Mariah Carey."
Season 3 of "Empire" premieres tonight on FOX at 9 p.m. ET.
