Britney Spears Opens Up About Her Conservatorship For The First Time (REPORT)

In case you count the subtle mentions of it during her 2008 MTV documentary, For The Record, Britney Spears has never addressed her highly-controversial conservatorship ... until now, that is.

Just days after her set at our 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival, the pop titan flew across the pond to promote her recently-released album, Glory, and stopped by "The Jonathan Ross Show" on Wednesday (September 28) to film an appearance for an episode, which is set to air on October 1.

During conversation about the LP, Spears brought up the taboo topic herself. "Okay, so I have this conservatorship. I’ve been under this conservatorship for three years and I felt like a lot of decisions were made for me, so I wanted [Glory] to be my baby and I’ve been really strategic about it," she reportedly said via PopCrush.

Another audience member chimed in on her quotes, tweeting, "She said she’s getting control on things little by little."

During her highly-publicized dark times in 2008, Spears was put under a court-ordered co-conservatorship, which was helmed by her father, Jamie Spears, and estate lawyer, Andrew Wallet. It has since become a hot topic for many, including the New York Times, who have wondered whether or not the pop star should be granted legal freedom if she's able to carry herself night-to-night during business ventures like her Las Vegas residency, "Piece of Me."
