Trump Claimed $916 Million Loss On 1995 Tax Returns

October 2, 2016

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reportedly declared a 916-million-dollar loss on his 1995 income tax returns.

The "New York Times" said it has obtained records showing the loss, a deduction so large it would allow the billionaire businessman to avoid paying any federal income tax for years.  Trump has refused to release his tax records, saying he's under an IRS audit.  The Trump campaign responded with a statement to NBC News saying Trump's responsibility as a businessman is to pay no more tax than legally required.  It also attacked the "New York Times" for illegally obtaining the alleged document and said it further demonstrated the newspaper and the media in general is an extension of the Clinton campaign.
