Just a day after announcing a tour around dive bars of America, Lady Gaga sat down with the NFL to discuss her forthcoming Super Bowl 51 halftime show, admitting that she burst into tears upon hearing confirmation of her high-profile booking.

During an appearance on FOX’s "NFL On Sunday," Mother Monster admitted that the news overwhelmed her with joy to the point where she simply couldn't hold back tears. "Maybe it's too sentimental, but I just burst into tears," Gaga said. "I just cried so hard. I just kept saying, 'I can't believe it, I can't believe it. I've been planning this since I was 4 so I know exactly what I'm going to do."

Even though Gaga kept tight-lipped on what she has up her sleeves for her set, you can bet that the pop titan is making sure that her gig is one that brings folks of all walks of life together.

"That night, it will be special. For me it’s all about giving to the fans and bringing people together that wouldn’t normally come together," she explained. "The thing is it's such a big world stage in terms of how many people see it and it's been done so many times, I think the challenge is to look at it and say, 'What can I do differently? How can I elevate certain little things here and there and also make it about the music?' I really want to sing for everyone."

Mark your calendar. Gaga will rock the Super Bowl LI halftime show at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on February 5, 2017.
