Maroon 5 & Kendrick Lamar Team Up For New Song 'Don't Wanna Know' (LISTEN)
October 12, 2016
Maroon 5 has a brand new single called "Don't Wanna Know" -- but this is one song you will definitely WANT to know. Adam Levine and crew teamed up with Kendrick Lamar for their latest track, which is the first new music we've heard from the band since they released their 2014 album V.
"Don't Wanna Know," released via 222 Records/Interscope showcases a noticeably different sound than what we've heard in the past from both Maroon 5 and Kendrick. Instead of pop/rock or hip hop, the song, produced by Benny Blanco, radiates a more pop-friendly tropical house vibe. It may be fall right now, but the summer lives on through this awesome new collaboration.
The official "Don't Wanna Know" music video is also set to debut this week, on October 14th on NBC's "TODAY." According to a press release, the visual is promised to be "another unique, unforgettable, and undeniable visual clip," as Maroon 5 has teamed up with acclaimed director/producer/screenwriter David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers), who was behind the band's "Sugar" music video -- which was their most viewed video to date with 1.4 billion YouTube/VEVO views.
Fans can also catch Maroon 5 perform their new song for the first time on November 3rd on "Ellen." No word on whether or not Kendrick Lamar will be joining them, but we are definitely keeping our fingers crossed!
