BEHOLD: Lyics From Four New Kesha Songs

October 26, 2016

Just this week, it came to light that Sony confirmed that a new Kesha album was in the works, according to a statement made to BuzzFeed News by the label. Now, in a new interview with New York Times Magazine, Kesha herself has confirmed that she submitted 22 new songs to Sony early in the summer of this year.

The in-depth interview talks about Kesha's lawsuit with Dr. Luke, what it was like for her making her first two albums, and reveals a few titles of new songs, in addition to some of their lyrics.

The NYTM interviewer, Taffy Brodesser-Akner, recalls listening to four new songs from Kesha in a New York City office. The songs she mentions in the interview are called "Hunt You Down," "Rosé," "Learn To Let It Go," and "Rainbow."

"Hunt You Down" is apparently a "real country song with banjo and some real country sentiments." Lyrics to this song include, "If you f*** around, I’ll hunt you down."

"Learn To Let It Go" is described as "something you'd hear in heavy rotation on radio with Kesha’s beautiful, low voice singing that a happy ending is up to you."

"Rosé" includes lyrics, "The good things never last" and is about a former boyfriend who is now married.

Meanwhile, Taffy describes her favorite new Kesha song -- and one she asked to listen to three more times in a row -- is a song called "Rainbow," and she says if her fans ever get to hear it, it will be their favorite Kesha song too. The track reportedly has a "Beach Boys vibe" to it and Kesha worked on this song with Ben Folds. Some of the lyrics are, "I found a rainbow, rainbow, baby ... Trust me, I know life is scary, but just put those colors on, girl, and come and paint the world with me tonight."

Earlier in the interview, it was revealed that Kesha wrote "Rainbow" while in rehab, on a toy keyboard, and wanted Ben Folds to produce the track.

Kesha thanked New York Times Magazine for the interview with a sweet note on Instagram. She wrote:

"Thank you to the New York Times for shedding light on my life and legal situation. There's nothing harder than dreaming and working and fighting for something your whole entire life, since you were 3 years old, since you could speak. And you FINALLY achieve it. And then have someone else take it away from you. My heart has a giant hole in it and is literally aching and throbbing from sadness and loss. Imagine someone owning your voice... and not letting you sing. Singing is how I have dealt with everything in my life. And my right has been taken away."

No word on when we might actually hear any of this new music Kesha has submitted, but we are crossing our fingers that it's soon!
