A few years back IKEA put together a touching commercial that reminds everybody what really matters during the Holiday season. While Christmas seems to be getting more commercialized earlier and earlier every year this commercial puts the Holidays and why we celebrate them into perspective.

The commercial, originally from Spain and uploaded to YouTube with English translations, features young kids being asked to write a letter to the 3 Kings (the Spanish equivalent of Santa Claus) with their Christmas wish list. Not surprisingly, the kids asked for their favorite toys and games.

After they finish writing their letters, they are asked to write another letter, this time to their parents. In these letters, the kids asked to spend more time with their parents, wanting to have more family dinners and more time playing together. Some of the parents were brought to tears by the letters.

After the kids wrote the letters, they were asked which one they wanted to send, the one to the 3 Kings that asked for toys, or the one to their parents. The kids, after some deliberating all decided they would send the letter to their parents.

This commercial is a reminder that the Holidays aren't just about getting the newest toy, or spending hours in lines fighting crowds trying to get a great deal on a new TV. Instead, the Holidays are about spending time with your family and friends and making memories that will last a lifetime.
