Alessia Cara On Her Protective Father & More In 'The Thought Shower'

Alessia Cara stepped into the bathroom during the latest installment of "The Thought Shower" with Intern John of DC's Hot 99.5 for another intimate (but casual) conversation about starting rumors in school, binge-watching Netflix's mega-hit "Stranger Things" and even growing up with a protective father.

"Italian dads are very strict, well, my dad in particular. Every time there would be a boy around," the pop star said of her father. "My dad is very short, but I think his demeanor often makes up for his height, especially when it comes to guys and stuff."

Cara, who is just 20-years-old, revealed that her current day best friend still has some fear for her pops. "I've been friends with her since I was 10. She's like 'I'm still kind of scared of your dad.' He's so nice, but I think he puts up this thing, [where he's] like 'Don't mess with me.'"
