The Weeknd snuck in one major promotional stop in the days leading up to the release of his new album, Starboy, with a performance of the LP's title track at the 2016 American Music Awards on Sunday night (November 20).

For the performance, Abel Tesfaye jammed out inside of an icicle-like tunnel, before making a grand entrance to the front of the stage towards the end of the number. It might not have been the biggest spectacle for the ceremony, but it did serve as appropriate promo for his upcoming "Starboy World Tour." "Star Boy" is the Daft Punk-assisted lead single from the pop star's forthcoming release, which also includes "False Alarm" and the recently released "Party Monster."

If you want to get your hands on more from The Weeknd, make sure you keep tabs on his Instagram. On Friday (November 18), the chart-topper teased round two of his pop-up shops, which will go live this weekend. Cities and locations will be announced shortly.

We'll be reporting on the 2016 American Music Awards all night long, so check back for more coverage on the Sunday night show. Click here for an up-to-date list of winners.
