Seahawks Smoke Panthers On Sunday Night Football

Thomas Rawls rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns as the Seahawks smoked the Panthers, 40-7, on "Sunday Night Football" in Seattle.  Russell Wilson threw for 277 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the win.  The 'Hawks sit alone atop the NFC West at 8-3-and-1.  

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton was benched by head coach Ron Rivera for the opening series for a dress code violation.  Newton passed for 182 yards and a score for the defending NFC champion, who Panthers dropped to 4-and-8.
