A new lawsuit is blaming the rise of ISIS on Facebook, Google and Twitter. Three families of men killed in the Pulse nightclub shooting filed a federal civil suit yesterday in Michigan against the internet giants. The lawsuit claims those companies gave terrorists a platform that "provided the terrorist group ISIS with accounts they use to spread extremist propaganda, raise funds, and attract new recruits"

The legal complaint was filed on behalf of Tevin Crosby, Javier Jorge-Reyes, and Juan Ramon Guerrero. The lawsuit blames the social media sites for "the explosive growth of ISIS over the last few years into the most feared terrorist group in the world."

Internet companies that allow 3rd parties to post content are usually immune from legal liability for that content under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
