The Game Requests Retrial In Sexual Assault Case

The Game is requesting a retrial in the sexual assault case he lost to Priscilla Rainey, who alleged the rapper forcibly touched her genitals while she was a contestant on his 2015 reality dating show, “She’s Got Game.” The rapper is arguing that the outcome of the lawsuit is unfair and the $7.13 million he’s been ordered to pay his accuser is too steep.

As Gossip Cop reported, Rainey filed a $10 million sexual assault lawsuit against The Game in August 2015, claiming the rapper inappropriately touched her while filming a scene for his show in a bar. The woman alleged that the rapper “forcefully reached his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks” multiple times during the shoot. As Gossip Cop also noted, an Illinois jury found The Game liable for more than $7 million in damages this past November, but he’s now appealing the court’s decision.

The Game has filed a motion requesting that a judge dismiss the previous ruling and grant him a new trial with a different jury. The rapper believes there’s a lack of sufficient evidence to prove he assaulted Rainey, and argues that he never got the chance to defend himself on the stand. The judge has yet to respond to The Game’s request for a retrial. TMZ was the first to report the news on Monday.
