Grace VanderWaal performed “Light The Sky” on Tuesday’s “Today” show. “Light The Sky” is the third track on the “America’s Got Talent” winner’s debut EP, Perfectly Imperfect. The five-song record came out in early December. Impressively, given that VanderWaal is just starting out, the collection peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
The EP of course features “I Don’t Know My Name,” VanderWaal’s breakout song. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the 12-year-old stunned when she auditioned for “AGT” with the original number. She continued to perform self-penned music throughout season 11 of the NBC competition, which she won in September.
VanderWaal first performed “Light The Sky” on the “America’s Got Talent” semifinals in August. The track now serves as the theme music for Google’s “2016 Year In Review.” She tweeted after this morning’s “Today” performance, “@TODAYshow thank you for having me on today. I love seeing you all and enjoyed sharing my song that is featured in @Google Year in Review!”
The rising star previously appeared on the morning show in November. And just last week, VanderWaal performed “Frosty The Snowman” for the “America’s Got Talent Holiday Spectacular.” It’s been quite the year for the tween, and she’s clearly ending it in a memorable way. Check out the new “Light The Sky” performance below!
