In an unlikely turn of events, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have been dragged into Kesha's sexual assault lawsuit against longtime collaborator Dr. Luke. Despite the fact that the pop star dropped the lawsuit against the super-producer in the state of California, it's still moving forward in New York, and the recent update on the case is intriguing, to say the least.

According to E! News, new document from the case's December 26th hearing reveals that the hitmaker now has permission to show Gaga and Perry a text message that Kesha sent Mother Monster in April 2016. No word on what exactly the message entails, but it's reportedly up to both parties' attorneys whether the message will be unveiled in court.

“Gottwald may share with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry the April 2016 text that Kesha sent to Lady Gaga, which Kesha turned over in discovery,” the document reportedly reads.

In case you haven't been following along, Kesha received an outpour of support for stepping forward to talk about her personal struggles with Dr. Luke, particularly from Gaga in the last year. "I just want to stand by her side because I can’t watch another woman that went through what I’ve been through suffer, and have everyone have a go at her as if she’s lying," the pop titan told Carson Daly in a radio interview in 2016. "This is just — I have to say, I talk to her every day. I’m friends with her personally. What I’m watching her go through is not only something I’ve been through but something that’s devastating to witness. Somebody that has such a beautiful light within them, so much talent to give — to see that light burn out because they feel that no one’s listening to them."

Meanwhile, Perry, who also has a long history of collaborations with Dr. Luke, has said nothing on the matter.
