One Dad's Joy, Another's Heartbreak in Kidnap Case

The biological family of an 18-year-old snatched when she was a newborn is rejoicing at her discovery, but one person who's not celebrating is Charles Manigo

The baby he named Alexis Kelly—the baby he thought was his daughter—was really Kamiyah Mobley, who was allegedly abducted by his ex-girlfriend, Gloria Williams, from a Florida hospital room in 1998 right after she was born, ABC News reports. 

Williams allegedly pretended she was a nurse taking baby Mobley for tests, News4Jax reports. Williams reportedly told Manigo she had had the baby while he was away, and for nearly two decades, the two co-parented Mobley, even after they ended their relationship in 2003. 

"The person she called dad for 18 years isn't her dad," Manigo tells ABC, adding that she told him, "Dad, I love you," at Williams' bond hearing Friday in South Carolina.
