Mayhem coming in 3...2...1...Chrisette Michele is scheduled to perform at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, New York Daily News is reporting.
This performance has been set for about a week now. But, the R&B singer's team has kept it "a big secret" because they feared that days of criticism, which would lead up the inauguration concert, would make matters much worse.
Her team even used what happened with Jennifer Holliday as an example. "They became especially concerned when Jennifer Holliday, who'd committed to performing for PEOTUS last week, withdrew amidst heavy pressure on Monday, citing 'a lapse of judgment,'" the publication said.
New York Daily News also reports that Trump's team reached out to her because they wanted her to perform "Intentional" with fellow artists Tye Tribbett, Jonathan McReynolds and Travis Greene -- the exact same singers who sang this in a episode of BET's "Celebration of Gospel." However, a couple of the vocalists rejected the invitation. But, Michele still expressed interest in performing at the event, as long as she can do an R&B set.
*Sigh* OK, girl. We're done...
