New York City Leads Nation In Rat, Cockroach Infestion
January 18, 2017
The Big Apple has a big problem when it comes to rats and cockroaches. The federal government's American Housing Survey is out with its list of the most roach and rat-infested cities in the U.S. and New York City is a leader in both dubious categories.
New York ranks ninth in roaches in third in rats and mice. More than a million New York households have rats and roaches. New Orleans, at 41-percent, is the most roach-infested city in America. Philadelphia has the most rats and mice, with 18-percent of households infested. The top five cities for homes with roaches are New Orleans, Houston, Miami, Atlanta, and Phoenix. Following Philly in the rat-race are Boston, New York, Washington, DC, and Milwaukee.
