Westbrook Left Out As NBA Starters Revealed

January 20, 2017

Despite leading the league in scoring, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will not start next month's NBA All-star Game.  The starters were revealed Thursday night on TNT.  The West is led by Warriors guard Steph Curry, Warriors forward Kevin Durant, Rockets guard James Harden, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard and Pelicans forward Anthony Davis.  Cavaliers forward LeBron James headlines the East starters.  He is joined by Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan.

This year's starers were based 50-percent on fan vote and 25-percent each by players and media. The reserves will be announced next Thursday and are chosen by NBA head coaches.  The All-Star Game will be played Sunday, February 19th in New Orleans.
