Tool frontman and gun enthusiast Maynard James Keenan is featured on the cover of Ballistic magazine with a custom memorial rifle dedicated to a fallen soldier and war hero with the lyrics of the song "Vicarious" inscribed on it.

Sergeant Robert J. Miller was a huge fan of Tool and was tragically killed during a Taliban ambush while serving in Afghanistan. He bravely engaged the enemy while his fellow soldiers escape safely. Miller, 24, was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously.

Maynard met a fellow soldier of Miller's at Gunsite Academy in Pauline, Ariz who gave the singer the commemorative rifle. “It seemed strange having a monogrammed rifle for me to commemorate Miller’s sacrifice,” Keenan tells the magazine. He then insisted the rifle have Miller's name inscribed on the gun. “I just wrote some poems. It made more sense for it to have his information so every time we used it we would think of him, not me."

The lyrics of "Vicarios" and "MJK" are inscribed on opposite sides of the rifle. Check out the cover below.
