Sports brings folks together if you believe the plot behind Ed Sheeran's new video for "Shape of You," which debuted on Monday morning (January 30).
Just a week after the unveil of his nostalgic clip for "Castle on the Hill," Sheeran unleashed the new visual and it's an ode to boxing. Directed by Jason Koenig, viewers see the singer/songwriter train at the boxing gym — all while being accompanied by his romantic workout partner. It's that kind of dynamic that helps their sporty love unfold before our eyes. However, all is not what it seems as the clip ends on a rather silly note when the singer hits the ring for his anticipated match.
Sheeran recently made waves when excerpts from his British GQ cover story surfaced. "There are a lot of singer-songwriters around now. I’m not the first but there are more than before," he confessed to the magazine. "I'm very happy for everyone to be in the same race as me, even if they copy every single thing I've done."
"Shape of You" is featured on his upcoming third LP, Divide, which drops on March 3rd.
